Nail Salon

Soooo, today I'm getting ready for our Life Group in our bathroom and Camryn comes in and reminds me I need to paint her nails like I've promised all day. I say "let mommy finish getting ready and I'll fix them before we leave." Camryn says "ok mommy, I'm going to get my colors". I say " Camryn, no let mommy finish and I'll get them for you" while she proceeds to go into my cabinet and pick out her colors! "See Mommy I picked red and red and...." CRASH!!!! Yep you guessed it, dark red nail polish bottle dropped to the floor (OPI Meet me in Paris actually) broken glass and dark red polish all over my tile floor on my white wall and on our upgraded cherry wood cabinets. Meanwhile, Camryn is saying "I'm sorry mommy" over and over again while crying, which is breaking my heart and somehow is making me calm down.

Sooooo, I spend the next 30 minutes empting my entire nail polish remover on my tile floor, groute and white wall..did I mention that?? Well I guess we will just need to paint our bathroom faster then planned.  The 30 minutes allows me to realize mistakes happen and it could be worse because glass did go all over the place.

We get home from our Life Group and our house smells like a nail salon! Nice.

Just too busy

When I created this blog, I really thought I'd be able to blog every night. I even had friends that said "Now when are you going to find time!?!". Sad to say they were right, but I'm not going to let that stop me. Sooooo, let me update you :)
1. Since my surgery I haven't been able to work out much, and I'm back in full swing with my goal to loose 7lbs in 7 weeks. I'm taking a class at work during lunch and running in the morning. I also started counting calories again, and I'm happy to say after a week and a half, I've lost 3.5lbs :)
2.  Work
3. Kiddo's- With the time change I do have more time at night, but I'm tired too! Connor came home with his report card today, and he was so proud for me to look at it. We are so proud of him. However, one thing he needs to work on is "Communicating at appropriate times"...Which we all know mean's He talks to much. But, hey that is ok. He is a talker, loves to chat with friends, and be everyone's friend. Very social butterfly which I only want for my children. Between Jason and I, they will not be shy which will only be positive in their experiences to come. However, we will work on this ;-)
4. Work
5. Hubby- Which is awesome by the way. When I have a bad day he is right there to pick me up. We actually celebrate our 7 year anniversary in 2 weeks. I have something planned but he has no idea...no worries, he doesn't read this, lol
6. Kiddo's- Not a commercial plays in which I hear "I WANT THAT FROM SANTA!!"  Oh goodness, the list is getting long.
7. I'm starting to make our yearly calendar for Christmas. I haven't been able to do this in a couple of years, and I'm going to do it again. We make one for each family for Christmas, so I better get busy.
8. We had our family pictures made last Sunday. We had such a great time out in the country on a red bridge. Everything in the picture is about red, so pretty. Our photographer and friend is awesome, so patient with the kids and creative.  I will post pictures soon.
So pretty busy and I'm exhausted,
Goodnight

Jessie plus Mario, Cinderella and a Luigi

Yay, it's Halloween! We made an entire weekend of it.

Friday: Movie Night- we watched the Olsen Twins Halloween movie. It was actually cute. Camryn enjoyed it more. I'm told constantly that she looks like them when they were on Full House, sorry but she is prettier :)

Saturday- We went to our church for trunk or treat. Sad that Jason could not join us because of work. I was super bummed because I found an afro wig for him to wear that day!  And the kids missed him being there, but we know it's part of the deal with him working. I made Chili for us and our friend that came over afterwards, it was yummy. My first time in the crock pot and from scratch. I even cut up an onion, which is a big deal for me since I can't stand onions!  And of course Jason cut up more and put it on top, lol. I'm in such a Halloween spirit, I actually watched Paranomal Activity with Jason! This is huge! I like scary movies, but oldie movies. Like Carrie, the shinning, the original Step Father, you get the idea. I will not watch Saw1, 2, 3, 3, 5, 6 what number is it up to??!!!

Sunday- The longest wait for the kids until dark.  Ha! Who am I kidding, I couldn't wait either. Made sure everyone took a nap so we could take our time and get to go through our (see how I say our, lol) candy without having to rush to bed right when we got home. Our street is the best!  We have a scary house on our street that you have to go into the garage to get Candy and the kids said they would go this year. But, after pulling Camryn out of the street because she is screaming and terrified, Jason and I go in. There is a scary clown sitting right by the candy, and I am soooooooo scared of clowns and Jason knows this. I don't take my eyes off of the clown, get the candy and turn around to leave and who is right behind me, but the owner of the house dressed like Micheal from Halloween! I scream like I'm in one of the movies, you can hear me from the street! But it was so much fun!  The kids can't wait until next year! This morning Connor says "mommy, next year I want to be a vampire and you can be the person I bite!" I say ok, we'll see next year.

Goodnight

My Day

In my profile I described myself as a fulltime mother, wife, and employee. Therefore, I thought I'd let you in on a day in life with Kristi Duncan....

5:30am- first alarm goes off...I turn it off
5:45am-second alarm goes off...I turn if off...I have a total of 3 alarms that go off because most of the time I'm so exhausted and in a deep sleep, I've at times (too many) turned off my alarm and woke up late.
6:00am- third alarm goes off and I finally get up, shower and make coffee
6:15am- Connor wakes up and I turn on the TV and make him breakfast
6:30am- Still getting ready, tell Jason it's time to get up, go layout Connor's clothes
6:45am- almost done getting ready, Camryn wakes up, make her breakfast (after asking her for 5 minutes what she wants and she finally tells me cereal no milk. Which I'm against but at this point I just want her to eat so I can finish getting ready.....Jason gets up.
7:00am- finished getting ready, pack Connor's snack and lunch, Connor is getting dressed.
7:00-7:30- Get my lunch together, get Camryn Dressed and head out the door. At 7:20 Jason took Connor to school.
8:00am- Get to Camryn's school, drop her off after several minutes of hugging and kissing, she drags this out, which Jason has told me several times she doesn't pull this act with him. Of course I've made it clear it's hard for me to let go too :(
8:15am- arrive at work
9:00am-12:00pm- Meetings
12:00-1:00pm- attend a lunch with a group at JCP called Wings- it's a commitee with Successful Women with JC Penney's. Great meeting, very uplifting.
1:00-3:00pm- more meetings.
3:00-5:15pm- Desk Time
5:15pm- Leave work to pick up Camryn then head to our friend Amy's who takes care of Connor after school.
6:15pm- Get home with Connor and Camryn. While they are winding down and having Play time, I jump on the treadmill for 20minutes. Feels Great!
6:45-7:10pm- The kids eat dinner, and dessert while watching TV. I'm eating a salad standing at the counter, going through the mail, the kids folders, Camryn says Mommy, please come eat with us. Can't resist and sit down with my children to eat. A moment I always cherish. Jason has a bike ride tonight with work so he will be home late, or typically he would be home soon eating as well. I start the kids bath, while it's filling up I test Connor on his weekly spelling words. He of course gets them all right :)
7:10-7:30pm- Kids are in bath. I'm unloading back packs, getting them ready for the next day, cleaning up after dinner.
7:40pm- Everyone is in thier pj's and Connor is reading us his book for school that he has to read every night, then he has to write one sentence he has learned about his book. His sentence is "Spiders can live on web's."
7:45pm- set TV on Blue's Clues for Camryn and I tuck Connor in and pray with him and rub his back as he falls asleep.
8:00pm- Get Camryn in bed, read and rub her back...this takes a little bit longer to put Camryn to bed since she is still taking naps. Not sure what time she went to sleep because I fall asleep and wake up at 9:00pm. Jason called at 8:40 to say he is on his way home.
9:00pm-Clean the kitchen, Jason walks in at 9:10 :)
9:15pm- Finally sit down to relax and watch some TV..while I read "The Brand Gap" required for work, which must be completed by Friday.
10:00pm- get on blog and now going to try and watch some more TV with Hubby and unwind...will probably fall asleep on the couch.

Wow, i'm even more exhausted when I see my typical day written out. People often ask me how I do it, they don't see how it's possible. Not going to lie, if I didn't have a career before I had Connor and Camryn I would be at home with them. But, I love what I do at JC Penney's, I've worked very hard to be where I'm at and I wouldn't trade being a mother or a wife either. My children and Jason are my passion, everything thing I do, I do for them. It is my purpose in life to be a good Christian, Mother and Wife and I know I'm good at all 3.
Goodnight....

Friday

Friday is my favorite day of the week, and it's not because the week has ended from work and school, but because it is Movie night every Friday at the Duncan house. I love when we create memories, and I know Connor and Camryn will cherish the Friday's we had when we just ordered pizza and watched movies. I'm sure it will end when they become teenagers :(  But for now we will take one Friday at a time!  Last night we watched "How to Train a Dragon", very cute movie. Unfortunately, Camryn is sick...caught something from the birthday party we went to last Saturday. Therefore she didn't make it all the way through, but Connor was simply content with his Popcorn, Juice, Blanket and Daddy by his side. So cute, Daddy loves it!
Then it's Saturday and we have to watch as daddy drives away on his bike to work. Every Saturday the kids "Zoom Zoom", which is running on the sidewalk while you drive away. Next Saturday I will take a pic and post it, so funny. The neighbors look at us like we are crazy, but we wouldn't trade it for the world. Of course since its beautiful in Dallas, Jason rode his bike (picture attached). Not many people know that we have a bike. Jason is a great driver, but I don't think he realizes I pray the entire time until I get his call or text that he made it to work. You see, we live off of a hwy called 380 and there is at least 1 accident a day on this death hwy!  Mostly because it's in the country so Semi's and big trucks take it to avoid major highways.
Like I said Camryn is sick so this is keeping us inside most of the day, poor Connor...at least he has his Wii (he is happy). We are hoping to go to the fair tomorrow for the last day, and Camryn has never been and Connor was 2 last time we went.
I will keep you posted...hahahahahaha, no pun intended :)

Mario and Cinderella

Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year. I have two beautiful children that love to play dress up whenever they can....and Halloween is the time in which Jason and I will dress them up as whatever they want to be. We are lucky that thier requests are still simple, which is Mario from Super Mario Brothers, and Cinderella. For a split second I almost asked Camryn if she would be Luigi because I knew she would say yes, but I didn't have the heart to make her dress like a boy :)  But, it sure would have been cute.  This past Saturday was the first of many times we will see Mario and Cinderella running through the house...We had a costume birthday party for a friend of the family . We hope one day Camryn will find her prince, but not until she is 30! For now Daddy can be her prince.  Enjoy the pictures!

Zebra

I was so excited to see I have some followers...I appreciate the support and I hope I can keep you entertained! :)
In my first post I mentioned how I use to be Kristi plus 3 and a Cat and a Frog. Well a month ago, Jason went out into the garage and sitting right by the door was a little frog. Jason has a brilliant idea to keep it as a pet for the kids. Being the supportive wife and mother that I am I go to Pet Co and get the frog a cage, rocks and live crickets. Yep, live ones...they can't eat anything dead only live crickets..nice.  Camryn immediately gets attached to the frog which is soon named Colin Duncan and reminds daddy nightly we must feed the frog.  Jason feeding the frog last about a week until the first set of crickets are gone, so of course I have to get over my fear of jumping live crickets attacking me and feed Colin.  This last about a week and Colin ends up going 3 days with no crickets, yes awful but this is the same time I just had my Kidney surgery.  So, Daddy finally breaks the news to Connor and Camryn that we must let the frog go live in our back yard with other frog friends and free to eat any crickets he wants. MELT DOWN!!!!
Finally after counseling from Daddy and Nana, Camryn and Connor agree it is best to let Colin Go.
2 Weeks has gone by and we are still praying for Colin during our prayer list everynight and tonight after the end of the prayer Camryn declares she needs a ZEBRA to replace Colin...NICE.
Thanks Daddy :)

12:15

Well finally set up my blog..I've wanted to do this for quite some time. To share things going on in my life and to just have an outlet to vent or question life in general, lol :)  I also hope to have topics for the week on issues I may be having and hope other mothers, wives and women will offer suggestions, or life experiences that would help not only me but maybe other's following my blog.
As you can see I'm quite busy, a mother of 2 beautiful and healthy children. Connor who is 6 and in first grade and Camryn our 4 year old princess.  I'm married to a wonderful man, Jason who puts up with me (at times, lol)...we also have a cat Max..hence the title of my blog.  Until recently we also had a pet frog which of course was my husbands idea, that is another story that I will have to share at another time.
It is now 12:19 and I must go to sleep, work comes early in the morning.

Goodnight,
