Mexico from my perspective; Day 1

Our day started at 5am as Jason wanted to leave by 6 since our flight was at 9:15. Everything went great, the kids jumped right out of bed with Connor saying "Hola!" and Camryn saying "It's time for the beach" and we left 5 minutes early. Made it to Fast Track, took the shuttle and then check in. We were able to bypass paying for our 2 suitcases due to my AA# which was nice because we paid for an upgrade to be in the first two rows with 2 windows. Connor was Jason's partner and Camryn was mine, see the picture below :)  We had 3 rules...
1. Hold your partners hand at all times....this was a Mexico rule as well of course
2. No loud voices on the plane
3. You can only get up twice to go potty :)
The plane ride was great, they were champs seeing that it was their first time! I had gum and water for the popping of the ears and tons to do! Before you knew it we landed and were at the front of the line for customs, perfect!  We bypassed the suitcase check too, no Red button...Jason thinks it's because we had kids because everyone else got green lol.  The airport is very nice, but much smaller then the Cancun airport I have personally been to 20 times. So as we are walking to our Funjet rep we of course got snagged by the time share and adventure monsters! I kept telling Jason, this is not where we are suppose to be and the monster kept asking Maam have you been here before, you need to go through this and I just walked off with Connor and Camryn in tow!  We found the Funjet rep and I told Jason I'm not moving until I see our name on his list. You may be thinking I was being paranoid, but this place was crazytown, nothing like Cancun and I think alot of it had to do with the size..it was very small. Connor's School was bigger then this place!  He had our name and made us follow him to wait for a ride which I thought would be a shuttle, UMMMMMMM NOPE, it was a taxi!
Now, this only worried me because I've never taking a taxi from the airport to the resort in all the times I've been to Mexico. I've only taken Shuttles and being with the kids, I have to admit I was a little nervous.
I had nothing to worry about, the drive was fine and when we arrived to the security stop outside the resort row, not only was there a gate but there were military men with huge guns. Once we got to our resort it was the same thing, we felt very safe.
Our room wasn't ready so we changed into our swimsuits, had lunch and walked the property. It was very pretty and big! It had 3 sections, The Grand, VIP (which we were in because we had a suite) and Gold (time shares). As VIP you can go to all 3. The Grand area had the Activity pool and the kids pool, the VIP area had the Club area (theater and game room) and the adult pool and another pool that we hung out most of the time. All of the pools were heated which was great!
When our room was ready we opened the door not knowing what to expect. It was bigger then some apartments I've lived in!  We had our own master bedroom with a king bed, Jason and I were in Heaven and we are now looking for a new king bedroom suit! lol. We had a full bath in our room, and the kids even had their own full bath with a shower. We had a kitchen, table and a large living room, which turned into a full bed for the kids, oh and 2 TV's. We were on the first floor and we didn't have an ocean view which I was a little upset, however we did have the miniture golf in our back yard with the playground which ended up a nice perk. The kids could just go out and play for a bit before dinner or if we were sitting on the patio reading :)
We hung out the rest of the day at the pool and the beach and had a nice early dinner and early night. It was a perfect day, long but perfect.
